We sit down with James Henson.
Meet James, a passionate member of our NTK Sensors team.
What is your role at NGK Australia?
Product Manager for NTK Sensors.
What do you like most about working for NGK?
I really love the team here at NGK. Everyone works so well with each other and that definitely makes your workdays enjoyable.
What is one thing you’re learning now and why is it important?
One major thing I am constantly learning from working at NGK is how all the NGK regions operate. I can see how NGK are doing things in different countries and that is very helpful as we can adapt some of those concepts to better improve how we as a company can perform here in Australia.
What do you think the Australian automotive industry will look like in a year’s time?
With how things are travelling at the moment, I think the main difference in the automotive industry we will see a year from now is that COVID-19 will change the way that every company looks at their day to day contact with their customers. Not as a negative, but in a way where people present themselves better and consciously being aware of presentation when handing back any vehicle.
What do you think the Australia automotive industry will look like in 5 years’ time?
In 5 years’ time, I would say that as technology is continually improving, we should start to see more and more advances in the tech brought out in vehicles. As this happens, it will change the type of equipment required to work on vehicles. For example, Electric Vehicles (EV).
What are must-haves on your desk (at work or home office)?
How have you overcome any challenges working in the automotive industry?
As the same I’m assuming in all industries, Automotive has a lot of challenges but as long as you research and think things through, nothing is too hard to overcome.
What is your dream car?
It’s hard to pick just one but I would say a Dodge Charger.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?
To relax on the rear deck with my feet up.
What are you watching at the moment that you would recommend?
